missingWrote a review on Nov 02dated hotelcleaning issue
i would have almost given a good review but couldn't. the hotel is a bit dated and needs improvements. My shower was not properly cleaned, not to mention the futon was terribly uncomfortable. i also expected a complimentary gesture for the inconvenience, but i guess that only happens for special guests.

The location is unbeatable, just steps from breathtaking views of the Togetsukyo Bridge and close to the Arashiyama bamboo grove. The private hot spring bath offered stunning river views, providing a peaceful retreat after exploring. Our suite was beautifully traditional, with comfortable futons and clean, spacious bathroom facilities.
The traditional bedding can be a bit uncomfortable for some.

Staying here was a delightful experience, especially enjoying the fresh local ingredients in the beautifully presented kaiseki dinner served right in our room. The staff went above and beyond with their warm hospitality, making our stay feel incredibly special. The location was perfect for visiting nearby attractions, and the atmosphere was authentically Japanese. However, the futon was a bit firm for my liking, and the early checkout time felt rushed after such a relaxing experience.

The traditional kaiseki dinner was a feast for the senses, beautifully presented and incredibly fresh. We also enjoyed a private bath that warmed us perfectly on a rainy day. The staff were warm and accommodating, even with our non-service dog in tow.
My wife says that the checkout time was too early.
